ARTIST STATEMENT

Haley Hasen addresses social and political conversations surrounding the body, sexuality, and censorship. She explores the role of being both director and observer in her work. Challenging the role of a female photographer, her work alternates between self-reflection and critique surrounding two themes; representation of the female body through social media, and exploration of toxic masculinity.
